Issue #1

A Note from the Writer…

I have been trying to find a way to revive this site/outlet that fits my current life and responsibilities over the last six months. After trying and scrapping countless ideas, I finally landed on something that feels correct.

Each week, I’ll be updating the site with a new issue of 3-10 articles for your (and my own) enjoyment. Each issue will be a round-up of stuff I’ve written throughout the week about pop-culture related topics, and I’ll try to close out with a more personal note from me as well. I wanted to open this first week’s issue with a note, considering I haven’t updated the site in months and literally everything (including the name) is different. I dropped “Timmy Is Thinking” because one, it’s too long, and two, if I’m going to be mostly writing about pop culture, why include my name in it?  Some of the topics in this week’s issue are slightly dated, as I’ve included some ideas I have been working on throughout the month, so don’t mind that.

I’m glad to be writing again, and I promise to keep up with it this time. Thank you for reading, as always.

– Timmy

From the second the book came out, people were deciphering the characters and giving think pieces on the timeline.  As an avid memoir enjoyer, this is everything to me.…

People Can’t Stop Misreading Celebrities

From Charli XCX’s “Death of the Dancefloor” -gate, to Timothée Chalamet’s apparent hatred for other art forms, it seems like everyone’s words are getting them in trouble. It’s hard for me to conclude whether I think people truly care about the words of celebrities, or if they already had a preconceived notion about them, and a…

Movies to Watch: May 2026

New Releases: I Love Boosters – Boots Riley (5.22 Theatrical Release) I had the pleasure of seeing an early screening of this a little bit ago, and it was truly one of the most bizarrely wonderful films I’ve seen in a hot minute. I love it when a director can make a film so lively and…

The New Oscars Rules: What Do They Mean?

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on May 1st that they are changing a few rules ahead of the 99th Academy Awards, but what do these changes mean? To me, the most intense change out of the three was the one affecting the acting categories. Prior to this change, actors were only eligible…
